WTI Ordnance 20mm Eagle PVC Patch — PVC Patch

The Tip of the Spear's Spear

At MAWTS-1, there is no room for second best. The WTI Ordnance 20mm Eagle patch represents the weapons and tactics professionals who ensure Marine aviation delivers maximum lethality on every sortie. This PVC patch is built for the ordnance specialists and weapons tactics instructors who make sure every round counts — from the 20mm cannon to precision-guided munitions.

Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One was commissioned on June 1, 1978, at MCAS Yuma, Arizona, born from the success of consolidated Weapons and Tactics Instructor courses that proved the need for a permanent graduate-level aviation training command. MAWTS-1 hosts the renowned WTI Course — recognized as the most comprehensive graduate-level aviation course of instruction in the world — producing over 300 WTI graduates each year who return to their squadrons as subject matter experts in weapons employment and tactical planning. The ordnance community within this elite program ensures that Marine aviation's killing power remains unmatched, from the 20mm rotary cannon on the Cobra to precision strikes delivered by Hornets and Harriers.
